Job summary

Amentum seeks a Stationary Engineer for a unique US Navy program based on Diego Garcia. The role involves operating, maintaining, and repairing boilers, chillers, generators, and HVAC systems to ensure safe, reliable utilities. You will monitor performance, perform routine maintenance, and support upgrades while adhering to U.S.

government and DoD/NAVFAC requirements. Requirements include 3–5 years in stationary engineering, a high school diploma or equivalent, and CMMS proficiency.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant experience operating, maintaining, and repairing stationary engines and mechanical equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications related to stationary engineering are desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems for power generation and utility distribution.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems effectively.
• Strong knowledge of safety procedures and government regulations related to operating stationary systems.
• Proficiency in maintaining equipment logs and using CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain stationary engines and equipment including boilers, chillers, and HVAC systems to supply utilities.
• Monitor equipment via daily readings and troubleshooting to ensure safe, efficient operation.
• Perform routine maintenance and parts replacement on boilers, pumps, and refrigeration units.
• Start and regulate power generation and distribution systems including chilled water and fuel systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot air handling units, chillers, cooling towers and controls.
• Keep detailed equipment logs and respond to emergencies with swift repairs.
• Assist in upgrades or replacements to meet modern efficiency and safety standards.
• Collaborate with engineering staff to resolve issues and complete tasks on schedule.
