Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Pipefitter / Steamfitter to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and certifying boilers, UPVs, and related systems in compliance with UFC 3-430-07 and P-606.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance of Steam Generation and Demineralized Water Plants, welding when needed, hydrostatic testing, and documenting all activities. Remote overseas deployment with safety and regulatory compliance required.

Qualifications

Certification of boilers and unfired pressure vessels (UPVs) per UFC 3-430-07 or P-606.
Experience with steam systems, water generation systems, and piping infrastructure.
Knowledge of pipefitting/steamfitting principles including welding, cutting, bending, and pressure testing.
Understanding safety standards for high-pressure systems and compliance with best practices.

Responsibilities

Certify boilers and UPVs to UFC 3-430-07 or P-606 requirements.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Steam Generation Plant and Demineralized Water Plant systems.
Inspect and repair piping systems, valves, pumps, and related components.
Troubleshoot malfunctions, diagnose faults, and execute repairs to minimize downtime.
Replace worn or damaged components and perform welding as needed.
Conduct hydrostatic and pressure tests to certify system integrity.
Monitor control systems for steam and water generation equipment.
Follow directives, plans, and manuals for repairs and installations.
Document maintenance activities and logs for compliance.
Maintain a clean, safe workspace in accordance with safety standards.
