Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Motor Vehicle Mechanic to support a unique US Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will maintain and repair NTVE, WHE, MHE, and OHE vehicles, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with NAVFAC P-307 requirements.

The role requires international travel, a valid passport, and the ability to obtain visas. You will work in diverse environments on a remote overseas location with safety as a core priority.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years journeyman-level experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance (NTVE, WHE, MHE, or OHE).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to travel internationally with a valid passport.
• Trained in maintenance for all WHE equipment.
• Ability to obtain country-specific visas per DoS guidance.
• Must be able to pass contract medical requirements and deployment health standards.
• English proficiency to perform contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair services on NTVE, WHE, MHE, and OHE vehicles and equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose mechanical issues using current technology and diagnostic procedures.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure operational readiness.
• Maintain knowledge of new technologies and troubleshooting procedures for WHE.
• Provide emergency road service between 0700 and 2100 hours, seven days per week.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance activities.
• Operate vehicles to perform diagnostics and verify repair quality.
• Comply with safety standards, PPE usage, and zero-injury goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
