Job summary

Amentum seeks a Power Plant Superintendent to support a unique US Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will supervise all operational aspects of the power plant to ensure reliability, safety, and efficiency of power generation.

Responsibilities include supervising diesel generators, monitoring operations, directing plant personnel, and implementing procedures to optimize performance and minimize downtime. Strong safety focus is required.

Qualifications

• Requires 3+ years operating three-phase/60 Hz diesel generators ≥ 1,000 kW.
• Knowledge of power plant operations and maintenance, diesel gensets, and distribution systems.
• Familiarity with safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English to perform contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise operation of diesel generators and related systems.
• Monitor plant operations for safety and efficiency.
• Assign tasks to plant personnel to meet schedules.
• Develop procedures to optimize generation and minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot generator equipment and distribution systems.
• Prepare documentation for operations, maintenance and audits.
• Conduct inspections to ensure readiness and compliance.
