Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Power Plant Operator to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves operating and monitoring all power plant systems, performing inspections, and maintaining equipment to ensure safe and reliable electricity generation.

Requirements include 3+ years in power generation or similar roles, ability to read technical manuals, and eligibility to travel internationally. A high school diploma is required; engineering degrees are preferred.

Must pass contract medical requirements and maintain deployment physical standards.
Must obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor generator sets, switchboards, radiator fans, and other systems.
Manage fuel supply systems, including air compressors and centrifuges.
Conduct pre-operation checks and post-operation inspections.
Troubleshoot operational issues and take corrective actions.
Perform routine inspections for wear, leaks, or corrosion.
Monitor controls to regulate load balances and power delivery.
Document performance data and maintenance logs daily.
Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs as needed.
Comply with safety standards and environmental regulations.
Respond to emergencies to minimize downtime and risk.
Communicate with supervisors and technicians to coordinate activities.
