Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Engine / Generator Mechanic to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will perform maintenance, inspection, and repair of diesel and generator systems in accordance with Navy standards and manufacturer specs.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical issues, routine servicing, and documenting actions. The role requires travel readiness, safety compliance, and ability to work in remote, team-oriented environments.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in engine maintenance or generator repair
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of internal combustion engines and generator systems
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
• Valid passport and ability to travel internationally

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform preventive maintenance on generator equipment
• Perform routine servicing such as oil changes, filter replacements, belt adjustments
• Maintain tools and work areas; document maintenance actions
• Comply with safety, PPE, and environmental regulations
• Support load testing and emergency power response
