Job summary

Siemens Energy in Batangas is seeking an Operations Technician to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation through monitoring, troubleshooting, and adherence to procedures. You will work with the O&M team to maintain performance and respond to events.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering with at least 1 year in power plant ops, familiarity with turbines, pumps, boilers, electrical systems, and SCADA/DCS/PLC.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Licensed Engineer) with at least 1 year of experience in power plant operations, ideally within a Combined Cycle Power Plant.
  • Strong knowledge of turbines, pumps, valves, boilers, generators, and electrical systems including switchgear and circuit breakers.
  • Hands-on experience with SCADA, DCS, or PLC systems, with the ability to monitor and optimize plant performance.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills with the ability to interpret electrical schematics and analyze system faults.
  • High attention to detail, strong communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in shift-based team environments.
  • Strong safety mindset with familiarity in permit-to-work systems and commitment to continuous learning and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate plant units under various conditions (normal, abnormal, emergency) in compliance with procedures.
  • Execute scheduled shift activities and ensure completion of operational documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and timely reporting through operations check sheets and logs.
  • Continuous monitoring of plant systems and reporting abnormal performance.
  • Raise fault notifications and initiate corrective actions.
  • Assist maintenance teams in diagnostics and troubleshooting activities.
  • Implement Permit-to-Work processes, including isolation and normalization procedures.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are in place prior to maintenance or operational work.
  • Participate in safety trainings and respond to emergency situations in line with site protocols.
