Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking an Operations Technician to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a power plant through continuous monitoring and troubleshooting.

You will work with the O&M team to maintain plant performance, respond to abnormal situations, and adhere to strict procedures while advancing safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with at least 1 year of power plant operations experience.
• Preferably licensed engineer with exposure to Combined Cycle Power Plants.
• Strong knowledge of turbines, pumps, valves, boilers, generators.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant units under various conditions in compliance with procedures.
• Execute scheduled shift activities and maintain operational documentation.
• Report performance using check sheets and logs; monitor plant systems.
• Raise fault notifications and initiate corrective actions.
• Assist maintenance teams with diagnostics and troubleshooting.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Licensed Engineer) with at least 1 year of experience in power plant operations, ideally within a Combined Cycle Power Plant.
• Strong knowledge of turbines, pumps, valves, boilers, generators, and electrical systems including switchgear and circuit breakers.
• Hands-on experience with SCADA, DCS, or PLC systems, with the ability to monitor and optimize plant performance.
• Proven troubleshooting skills with the ability to interpret electrical schematics and analyze system faults.
• High attention to detail, strong communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in shift-based team environments.
• Strong safety mindset with familiarity in permit-to-work systems and commitment to continuous learning and compliance.

• Operate plant units under various conditions (normal, abnormal, emergency) in compliance with procedures.
• Execute scheduled shift activities and ensure completion of operational documentation.
• Maintain accurate and timely reporting through operations check sheets and logs.
• Continuously monitor plant systems and report abnormal performance.
• Raise fault notifications and initiate corrective actions.
• Assist maintenance teams in diagnostics and troubleshooting activities.

Personnel and Plant Safety (20%)

• Implement Permit-to-Work processes, including isolation and normalization procedures.
• Ensure all safety precautions are in place prior to maintenance or operational work.
• Participate in safety trainings and respond to emergency situations in line with site protocols.
