Job summary

Terabase Energy is seeking a technical lead for a team delivering SCADA, networks, and controls for utility-scale PV and battery storage projects. You will guide engineering design, assign tasks to junior engineers, and drive projects from kickoff to handover with support from design, development, and commissioning teams.

You will ensure high-quality execution, collaborate with managers to meet milestones, and provide leadership, training, and field support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology)
• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience developing solar projects
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; familiarity with related engineering tools is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead and/or self‑perform the execution of engineering activities.
• Coordinate with Engineering Manager and Project Managers to manage capacity and meet milestones.
• Review and evaluate engineering services proposals; oversee quality of work from staff.
• Manage RFIs, technical inquiries, and transmittals; track responses and closures.
• Contribute to proposals and scope development, including conceptual designs and execution plans.

What We Do

The Operational Technology Division is responsible for the engineering design and execution activities for SCADA, network, and controls on utility scale PV and Battery Storage power plants. There are four major systems that this team is responsible for delivering: Plant Controls, SCADA, Field Instrumentation, and IT systems.

Position Summary

Be the technical lead for a team that identifies customer requirements, analyzes and evaluates multiple solutions, develops functional and physical architecture, and verifies and validates high‑complexity systems. You will assign tasks to junior engineers and technicians to achieve the designs. You will work on the project from kickoff to customer handover and will be supported by the design, development, and commissioning teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and/or self‑perform the execution of engineering activities.
• Work with the Engineering Manager and Project Managers to manage internal and external capacity to meet project milestones.
• Request and evaluate engineering services proposals.
• Perform quality reviews of work performed by assigned staff; identify, investigate, and resolve internal and external quality issues on projects.
• Manage and control the generation, issuance, resolution, and close‑out of requests for information, technical inquiry forms, and transmittals/submittals.
• Participate in preparing proposals and scope development, including conceptual designs and execution plans, engineering/project cost estimates, and schedules.
• Coordinate technical activities and designs with personnel in other disciplines and departments within the local office.
• Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team members.
• Provide short‑term field support during construction.
• Any other actions required by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or another technical degree.
• Three years minimum of engineering experience performing development of solar projects in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Project management experience is a plus.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each posted range, individual pay is determined (and may be greater or higher), dependent on work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
