Qualifications

About the role

We are seeking an On-call Steward to join the team at Interactive Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Pasay City, Metro Manila. This is a part-time position that offers flexibility whilst providing essential support to our hospitality operations. As an On-call Steward, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation within our kitchen and dining facilities. Your work will directly contribute to ensuring an exceptional experience for our guests and a smooth operational environment for our staff.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout kitchen areas, including washing, sanitising and organising kitchen equipment, utensils and cookware
• Assist with food preparation support tasks, including washing vegetables, fruits and other ingredients as directed by kitchen staff
• Handle and manage waste disposal in accordance with food safety and environmental regulations
• Restock kitchen supplies and ensure adequate inventory of cleaning materials and essential items
• Support the kitchen team during service by clearing and cleaning workstations promptly
• Maintain proper storage of cleaned items and equipment in designated areas
• Respond to on-call requests and adjust schedule as operational needs require
• Adhere to all food safety, health and safety protocols and company policies

What we’re looking for

• Prior experience as a steward, kitchen assistant, or similar hospitality support role is preferred but not essential
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Physical fitness and ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift moderate weights and stand for extended periods
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams
• Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to respond to on-call scheduling requirements
• Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff
