WNL Construction Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineering professional to provide technical and engineering support across multiple project phases.
The role involves reviewing drawings, coordinating with site teams, and preparing shop drawings and estimates to ensure alignment with approved plans. You will assist in quantity take-offs, material specifications, and project documentation while liaising with engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical and Engineering Support
Review architectural, structural, civil, and other relevant construction drawings and specifications.
Study project scope, plans, specifications, and construction requirements.
Identify discrepancies, conflicts, missing information, and constructability concerns in drawings and documents.
Provide technical support to the site team during project implementation.
Assist in developing practical construction solutions for site and design-related concerns.
Coordinate with the Project Engineer, Site Engineer, Architect, and other technical personnel regarding engineering requirements.
. Fit-Out Drawing and Shop Drawing Support
Assist in the preparation and review of shop drawings, working drawings, and construction details.
Coordinate architectural and civil requirements with other trades such as architectural finishes, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection.
Check dimensions, levels, layouts, and details against approved drawings and actual site conditions.
Assist in incorporating approved revisions into working and shop drawings.
Maintain proper records of drawing revisions and approved documents.
Assist in preparing as-built drawings based on actual completed works.
Quantity Take-Off and Estimation
Prepare quantity take-offs for civil and architectural fit-out works.
Calculate quantities of materials required for project implementation.
Assist in preparing cost estimates, material estimates, and budgetary requirements.
Review quantities against approved drawings, scope of work, and actual site conditions.
Assist in evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Prepare quantity comparisons and assist in monitoring material and construction costs.
Identify potential variations and additional works that may affect project cost.
Material and Procurement Support
Prepare material take-offs and technical specifications for procurement.
Assist in preparing material requisitions and purchase requirements.
Review material samples, technical data sheets, and product specifications.
Verify that proposed materials comply with approved specifications and project requirements.
Assist in monitoring material deliveries and requirements for ongoing works.
Site Coordination Support
Coordinate with Site Engineers, Foremen, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding technical requirements.
Review site progress and provide necessary technical support from the office.
Coordinate solutions for site discrepancies and construction issues.
Assist in ensuring that construction activities are carried out based on approved drawings and specifications.
Project Documentation
Prepare and maintain technical and project-related documents.
Assist in preparing RFIs, technical submittals, material submittals, inspection requests, and transmittals.
Maintain records of approved drawings, revisions, specifications, and technical correspondence.
Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly project reports.
Prepare documentation related to variations, additional works, and site instructions.
Organize project files and ensure that current documents are readily accessible.
Assist in compiling turnover and close-out documents.
Variation and Additional Works
Assist in identifying additional works and changes from the original scope.
Prepare quantity take-offs and supporting documents for variation orders.
Assist in documenting site instructions, approved changes, and additional work requirements.
Coordinate with the Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor, client, consultant, and site team regarding variations.
Maintain records of approved and pending variations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
Licensed Civil Engineer is preferred.
Fresh graduates are welcome to apply; experience in fit-out or construction is an advantage.
Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and interior fit-out works.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, civil, and construction drawings.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Knowledge of AutoCAD is required/preferred.
Familiarity with quantity take-offs and construction estimates.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Strong attention to detail and analytical ability.
Willing to conduct occasional site visits and coordinate with project teams.
Able to work under deadlines and handle multiple project requirements.
