Job Summary
The Project-Based Civil Engineer is responsible for the planning, supervision, coordination, and monitoring of assigned construction and fit-out projects. The role ensures that project activities are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with approved plans, specifications, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site inspection, validation, and assessment prior to and during project implementation.
- Supervise and coordinate daily construction and fit-out activities, manpower, subcontractors, materials, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure proper execution of civil, architectural, finishing, and other related works in accordance with approved plans and specifications.
- Conduct toolbox meetings and monitor compliance with site safety and housekeeping requirements.
- Perform quality control inspections and ensure timely correction of defective or non-compliant works.
- Prepare and monitor RFIs, material requests, site reports, accomplishment reports, and other project documentation.
- Monitor project progress, schedules, manpower, materials, and milestones.
- Prepare weekly look-ahead schedules and provide regular project updates to management and clients.
- Verify project accomplishments and provide supporting documents for progress billing.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, estimators, and internal departments.
- Conduct punch listing, monitor corrective works, and facilitate project turnover and close-out activities.
- Maintain complete and accurate engineering and project records.
- Perform other duties related to project implementation as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Civil Engineer (PRC License required).
- Must posses COSH certification
- At least 1–3 years of relevant experience in construction, project supervision, site engineering and fit-out/renovation projects.
- Fit-out experience is highly preferred, particularly in commercial, office, restaurant, or residential projects.
- Knowledgeable in construction methods, quality control, and safety standards and construction drawings.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Applications, and project management tools.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Willing to be assigned to project sites and travel as required.
- Amenable to working six (6) days a week, from Monday to Saturday.
Project Duration:
The engagement shall be project-based and shall automatically terminate upon the completion of the assigned project or upon the expiration of the contract period, unless otherwise extended by management.
