I. JOB SUMMARY
The Head Office Engineer provides technical, administrative, and coordination support to all ongoing construction projects. The role involves reviewing plans, preparing cost estimates, monitoring project progress reports, and ensuring that site operations are aligned with the company’s standards, design requirements, and budget. The position also acts as a bridge between the head office and the project sites.
II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Project Coordination and Support
- Serve as the main liaison between project sites and the head office.
- Review and evaluate project reports, accomplishment updates, and billing from site engineers.
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating multiple projects to ensure timely completion.
- Provide technical guidance and clarification to site teams on plans, specifications, and procedures.
B. Technical and Engineering Works
- Prepare and review shop drawings, material take-offs, and cost estimates.
- Validate and consolidate project accomplishment quantities for billing purposes.
- Check structural, architectural, and MEP plans for completeness and consistency.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, design standards, and company policies.
C. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain an organized record of project documents such as plans, contracts, change orders, and correspondence.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management.
- Evaluate material requests and purchase orders submitted by site teams.
- Monitor project budgets, manpower, and resource utilization reports.
D. Coordination with Other Departments
- Work closely with the Purchasing, Logistics, Accounting, and HR departments for project needs.
- Coordinate with the Safety Department to ensure that approved safety protocols are implemented at site.
- Support the Project Manager in client coordination and progress meetings.
E. Quality Assurance and Control
- Review and monitor project compliance with design quality and technical standards.
- Recommend solutions for technical issues or discrepancies encountered at site.
- Conduct periodic site visits for inspection, verification, and validation of progress.
III. QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Civil Engineer (preferred).
- At least 3–5 years of experience in construction project management or office engineering.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project, and other engineering software.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
