The New Equipment Sales Engineer is responsible for driving the sales of OTIS elevators and escalators for new construction and development projects. The role involves managing the full sales cycle — from prospecting and technical proposal preparation to contract negotiation and order fulfillment — while building and nurturing strong client relationships with key stakeholders in the construction and real estate industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new equipment sales of OTIS elevators and escalators for commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects within the assigned territory.
- Identify, develop, and manage client relationships with real estate developers, architects, consultants, and general contractors.
- Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, and competitive sales presentations tailored to client requirements.
- Prepare pre-qualification documents and technical submissions in support of new equipment proposals.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts and agreements with clients based on established company guidelines and pricing policies.
- Coordinate with internal engineering and project management teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment and on-time project delivery.
- Maintain competitive market intelligence to position OTIS as the preferred partner in competitive bids.
- Monitor and forecast sales demand within the assigned territory and report progress against sales targets.
- Achieve and consistently exceed assigned sales quotas and revenue targets.
- Conduct site surveys and recommend technical solutions aligned with project specifications and building codes.
- Stay current on OTIS product innovations, industry trends, and vertical transportation developments.
Requirements
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- At least 2–3 years of sales experience in the elevator/escalator industry or related building solutions (e.g., HVAC, fire protection, building automation).
- Strong technical knowledge of vertical transportation systems and building construction processes.
- Proven track record in B2B sales and project-based selling environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong relationship-building skills with developers, architects, and consultants.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans and specifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Licensed Engineer (PRC) is an advantage.
