The Modernization Sales Engineer is responsible for identifying and pursuing opportunities to upgrade or retrofit existing elevator and escalator systems across COPI's customer portfolio and new prospects. This role combines technical expertise in vertical transportation with strong commercial acumen to deliver modernization solutions that meet client needs and comply with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue modernization opportunities within existing customer portfolios and new prospects.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine modernization needs, scope, and technical feasibility.
- Recommend technical solutions aligned with safety codes, compliance standards, and building requirements.
- Prepare and present modernization proposals and cost estimates to building owners, property managers, and developers.
- Negotiate and close modernization contracts while meeting or exceeding assigned sales targets.
- Proactively identify bid opportunities, prepare bid responses, and create compelling client presentations.
- Coordinate with internal engineering, operations, and pricing teams to ensure smooth project handoff and execution.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, consultants, and building administrators.
- Track sales pipeline, KPIs, and provide regular reporting to management.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and competitor activities in the vertical transportation sector.

Job Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related Engineering field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PRC) is an advantage.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in the elevator and/or escalator industry is required.
- Background in modernization, technical sales, new equipment sales, or field service within the vertical transportation sector is highly preferred.
- Experience in business development or B2B technical sales in building solutions (HVAC, mechanical, or related) may be considered.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Solid understanding of elevator and escalator systems, components, and modernization processes.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings, wiring schematics, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with safety codes, compliance standards, and local regulatory requirements for vertical transportation.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of CRM tools is an advantage.
- Strong sales acumen with a proven ability to negotiate and close deals.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused with strong relationship-building capabilities.
- Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple accounts and proposals simultaneously.
- Self-driven, results-oriented, and able to work independently in a field-based environment.
- Willingness to conduct regular site visits and fieldwork within the assigned territory.
- Other Requirements:
- Residency near the assigned area of coverage is preferred for ease of mobility and fieldwork.
