Job summary

Scale Up Philippines is looking for an experienced Medical Records & DocuRisk Specialist to support a US-based healthcare organization specializing in orthopedic and pain management services.

You will process requests, verify HIPAA authorizations, and maintain PHI within EHR/EMR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth, collaborating with clinical, billing, legal and administrative teams to ensure timely, compliant handling.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of medical records or health information experience.
• Experience supporting US healthcare accounts.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA, PHI, and medical records compliance.
• Familiarity with Epic or Athenahealth EHR/EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Process and fulfill medical records requests accurately and securely.
• Verify authorizations before releasing PHI.
• Identify and elevate documentation or compliance risks.
• Maintain accurate patient records within EHR/EMR systems.
• Coordinate with clinical, billing, legal, and administrative teams.
• Track records requests, turnaround times, and SLA compliance.
• Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
