Job summary

Scale Up Philippines is looking for an experienced Medical Records & DocuRisk Specialist to support a US-based healthcare organization specializing in orthopedic and pain management services.

You will process requests, verify HIPAA authorizations, and maintain PHI within EHR/EMR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth, collaborating with clinical, billing, legal and administrative teams to ensure timely, compliant handling.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of medical records or health information experience.
• Experience supporting US healthcare accounts.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA, PHI, and medical records compliance.
• Familiarity with Epic or Athenahealth EHR/EMR systems.

• Identify and elevate documentation or compliance risks

• Maintain accurate patient records within EHR/EMR systems

• Coordinate with clinical, billing, legal, and administrative teams

• Track records requests, turnaround times, and SLA compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality requirements

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of medical records, health information, or healthcare administrative experience

• Experience supporting a US healthcare account/environment

• Strong knowledge of HIPAA, PHI, and medical records compliance

• Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth

• ROI or records platforms such as Ciox, MRO, or Sharecare are an advantage

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and written English communication

• Able to work independently in a hybrid setup
