Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Makati is preparing to open a landmark 5-star luxury hotel in Manila, offering 275 guestrooms and resort-style amenities. The Fitness Supervisor will oversee the Fitness Centre and Swimming Pool, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and exceptional guest experiences in line with MOQA and LQE standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, Fitness Management, Wellness, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
• Professional certification in Personal Training, Fitness Instruction, Group Exercise, Lifeguarding, or a related discipline.
• Must possess and maintain valid certifications required by local regulations, including First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a luxury fitness, recreation, wellness, or hospitality environment, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of fitness operations, pool management, guest safety, and luxury service standards.
• Proven leadership, coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in fitness or recreation management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Professional grooming and presentation aligned with Mandarin Oriental standards.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Fluent in English; additional language skills are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Spa & Wellness in implementing and maintaining LQE, MOQA, and Spa & Wellness standards across all guest interactions.
• Oversee the daily operations of the Fitness Centre and Swimming Pool, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment at all times.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and address feedback, concerns, and special requests promptly.
• Conduct daily briefings and communicate priorities, wellness initiatives, and service standards to the team.
• Maintain facilities, equipment, and amenities to high standards; coordinate with Engineering and Housekeeping for maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, emergency, and operational procedures; uphold grooming and professional standards.
• Lead and develop Spa & Wellness staff; foster teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Support safety inspections, audits, and compliance requirements; maintain accurate records.
