Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Makati invites a dedicated Lifeguard to join a preopening team preparing a five-star experience in Manila's Ayala district. You will monitor pool safety, greet guests, and uphold MOQA standards in a luxury wellness setting.

You will hold lifeguard, first aid, CPR and AED certifications, have at least one year of relevant experience, and maintain professional grooming. The role requires flexibility for shifts, weekends, and holidays, and English fluency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; hospitality, recreation, or sports-related qualifications are an advantage.
• Valid Lifeguard Certification from a recognized training organization.
• Valid First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
• Minimum 1 year of lifeguard experience in a luxury setting.
• Strong knowledge of water rescue techniques and pool safety operations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Professional grooming and presentation aligned with Mandarin Oriental standards.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional, professional service to guests using pool and wellness facilities.
• Welcome guests, provide information on pool facilities, hours, and safety.
• Maintain a visible, approachable presence and ensure a safe guest experience.
• Respond to emergencies with water rescue, first aid, CPR, and AED.
• Conduct safety inspections and report hazards; maintain equipment readiness.
• Assist in opening and closing procedures of pool operations.
