About the role
The Legal Officer will provide legal support across the company's various business operations, including contracts, property transactions, corporate matters, loans, collections, labor concerns, compliance, and general legal documentation. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly licensed lawyer who wants to gain hands-on and broad exposure to different areas of business and corporate law.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, review, and revise contracts, agreements, MOAs, letters, notices, and other legal documents.
- Provide legal assistance and guidance on the company's day-to-day business operations.
- Review and assist with property-related transactions, including leases, deeds, titles, and other property documents.
- Review documents relating to loans, financing, and other financial transactions, as needed.
- Assist in collection matters, including preparation of demand letters and other legal documentation.
- Assist HR with labor and employment-related concerns, disciplinary matters, notices, and employee documentation.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions, memoranda, case summaries, and recommendations.
- Review company policies, procedures, and internal documents from a legal and compliance perspective.
- Assist in monitoring government permits, registrations, licenses, and other regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with external counsel, government agencies, notaries, banks, clients, suppliers, and other third parties on legal matters.
About you
- Must be a Philippine Bar passer and currently admitted to the Philippine Bar.
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree.
- Strong legal research, writing, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Good understanding of Philippine corporate, commercial, property, labor, contract, and civil law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Able to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Willing to learn and work across different areas of business law.
- Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with management and different departments.
