Job summary

moneeinsure philippines is seeking a General Insurance Underwriter Sub-lead to steer the GI and Life underwriting team in the Philippines. You will drive day-to-day operations, ensure accurate evaluations, and align decisions with risk appetite and service standards.

You'll mentor junior underwriters, implement process improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to boost efficiency and customer experience in a fast-paced insurance environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required with 4-year curriculum.
• Completed Intermediate and Advanced Insurance Courses from IIAAP.
• Holding a valid Non-Life Underwriter registration (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead GI and Life underwriting operations; ensure timely, accurate processing.
• Manage work queues, priorities, and task allocation to optimize productivity.
• Monitor quality, turnaround times, and KPIs; implement corrective actions.
• Review complex referrals and non-standard risks within delegated authority.
• Validate premiums, limits, deductibles, exclusions, and policy terms.
• Provide technical guidance to underwriters; act as escalation point.
• Identify process improvements; develop SOPs and manuals; drive system changes.
• Coordinate UAT and readiness for product launches and underwriting enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and audit standards.
• Prepare management reports; monitor underwriting trends and performance.
• Collaborate with Product, Commercial, Operations on implementations.
• Mentor junior underwriters and foster continuous professional development.
