Job summary

MONEE (CREDIT) FINANCE PHILIPPINES, INC. is seeking a Junior Underwriter to develop and maintain underwriting SOPs and criteria, ensuring regulatory compliance while supporting daily underwriting operations in collaboration with local and regional teams.

You will drive system enhancements, participate in UAT, and help optimize underwriting efficiency and product experience through cross-functional cooperation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree / 4-Year Course Graduate
• At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in insurance underwriting, policy administration, or other related insurance operations
• Exposure to General Insurance products is preferred
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of underwriting principles, risk assessment, policy terms and conditions, premiums, limits, deductibles, exclusions, and underwriting controls
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess standard risks and identify cases requiring escalation
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in reviewing applications, policy information, and supporting documents
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Able to manage assigned workloads and meet established quality, productivity, and turnaround-time requirements

Responsibilities

• Review and process new business, renewal, endorsement, and other underwriting transactions in accordance with approved underwriting guidelines, procedures, and service level agreements
• Evaluate applications and supporting documents for completeness, accuracy, eligibility, and compliance with underwriting requirements
• Process assigned underwriting cases within established quality, productivity, and turnaround-time standards
• Identify incomplete, inconsistent, or potentially material information and coordinate for the necessary clarification or additional documentation
• Assess standard risks within delegated underwriting authority and recommend appropriate underwriting action based on established guidelines
• Validate applicable premiums, benefits, policy limits, deductibles, exclusions, eligibility criteria, and other underwriting parameters
• Identify non-standard risks, exceptions, and cases outside delegated authority and elevate them to the Senior Underwriter or Underwriting Lead with an initial assessment and recommendation
• Identify recurring operational issues, process gaps, and opportunities to improve underwriting efficiency and accuracy
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing for underwriting system enhancements, product configurations, and new product implementations
• Ensure underwriting transactions are processed in accordance with approved guidelines, internal policies, regulatory requirements, and established controls
