The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day restaurant operations, supervising staff, maintaining excellent customer service, and ensuring compliance with company standards. The role supports the Restaurant Manager in achieving sales targets, controlling operational costs, maintaining food quality and safety, and developing restaurant staff.
1. Restaurant Operations
Supervise daily opening, operating, and closing activities.
Ensure smooth, efficient, and organized restaurant operations.
Monitor service speed, order accuracy, product availability, and cleanliness.
Ensure proper implementation of company operating procedures and standards.
2. Team Supervision & Leadership
Lead, schedule, delegate, and monitor restaurant staff.
Conduct shift briefings and assign responsibilities.
Coach employees and provide timely performance feedback.
Address attendance, performance, behavioral, and operational concerns appropriately.
Maintain discipline, teamwork, accountability, and professionalism within the team.
Take charge of the restaurant or shift in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.
3. Customer Service
Ensure employees consistently provide excellent customer service.
Handle customer complaints professionally and resolve concerns promptly.
Escalate serious or recurring customer concerns when necessary.
Maintain a positive and welcoming restaurant environment.
4. Inventory & Product Control
Monitor inventory levels, receiving, storage, stock rotation, and product usage.
Ensure proper implementation of FIFO (First In, First Out).
Monitor wastage, discrepancies, shortages, and variances.
Report unusual inventory movements or discrepancies to management.
5. Sales, POS & Cash Handling
Monitor daily sales performance and store targets.
Ensure accurate POS transactions and proper cash-handling procedures.
Assist in cash reconciliation and verification of sales reports.
Immediately report cash shortages, overages, or irregular transactions.
6. Food Safety, Quality & Sanitation
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and product-quality standards.
Monitor proper food preparation, handling, storage, and serving procedures.
Conduct routine checks of workstations, equipment, storage areas, and dining areas.
Correct food safety or sanitation violations immediately.
7. Reporting & Accountability
Prepare accurate shift, sales, inventory, wastage, and operational reports.
Properly endorse pending concerns to the next shift or management.
Immediately report incidents involving employees, customers, company assets, cash, inventory, or food safety.
Maintain accurate documentation and accountability for assigned operational responsibilities.
Preferably with supervisory or leadership experience in the Food & Beverage / Restaurant industry.
Knowledgeable in restaurant operations, inventory management, cashiering, and customer service.
Strong leadership, communication, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.
Able to supervise, coach, delegate, and manage restaurant staff.
Familiar with food safety, sanitation, FIFO, inventory control, POS transactions, and cash reconciliation.
Able to work under pressure and handle customer and employee concerns professionally.
Willing to undergo training/immersion and perform hands‑on restaurant operations.
Willing to work shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays as required by operations.
