Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of mortgage underwriting, loan processing, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Working knowledge of federal/state regulations and underwriting guidelines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Analyze credit reports, income documentation, assets, contracts, and appraisals.
• Research loan program guidelines and verify compliance with underwriting standards.
• Review and verify Form 1003 for completeness and accuracy.
• Request Chain of Title documentation from title companies or seller attorneys.
• Apply underwriting knowledge to income calculations and TRID guidelines.
• Create and maintain follow-up procedures for outstanding items.
• Complete Clear to Close audits for each loan file before submission.
• Clearly communicate closing conditions to borrowers.
• Order subordination agreements as needed after appraisal/title receipt.
• Coordinate closing dates with borrowers, loan officers, and title companies.
• Review refinance title commitments and verify borrower ownership and liens.

The Qualifications We Seek

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in mortgage underwriting, loan processing, financial services, or a related field
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Working knowledge of federal and state regulations, regulatory requirements, and underwriting guidelines within the mortgage industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, handle concurrent tasks effectively, and meet deadlines

Your Daily Tasks

• Analyze credit reports, income documentation, assets, contracts, and appraisals.
• Research loan program guidelines and verify compliance with applicable underwriting standards.
• Review and verify the completeness and accuracy of the Uniform Residential Loan Application (Form 1003).
• Request Chain of Title documentation from title companies or seller attorneys during loan processing.
• Apply underwriting knowledge to income calculations and TRID guidelines.
• Create and maintain follow-up procedures for outstanding needs letters, appraisals, title documents, and approvals.
• Complete Clear to Close (CTC) audits for every loan file before submission.
• Communicate closing conditions and requirements clearly to borrowers.
• Order subordination agreements upon receipt of appraisal and title documentation.
• Coordinate and schedule closing dates and times with borrowers, loan officers, and title companies as required.
• Review refinance title commitments and verify borrower ownership, property tax status, and lien accuracy.
