Job Overview:
The Sales Team Manger is responsible for developing and executing effective sales strategies, monitoring team performance and leveraging market insights to capture new business opportunities. This role focuses on aligning the team’s efforts with the overall business objectives while ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term relationship building. The Sales Team Manager is also responsible for leading, motivating, and managing a high-performing sales team.
Accountabilities :
- - Achieving of monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
- - Translating strategic goals into actionable plans and daily activities.
- - Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, ensuring high customer satisfaction and long-term loyalty.
- - Providing accurate sales forecasts, performance reports and insights to management.
- - Ensuring high performance, productivity, and continuous professional development of the sales team.
- - Ensuring that the team meets its targets and adheres to company policies.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- - Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets, thereby contributing directly to business growth.
- - Set clear sales targets and drive the team to achieve or exceed them through actionable plans.
- - Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales activities and outcomes.
- - Analyze sales data to track trends, forecast future performance, and identify areas for improvement.
- - Adjust strategies based on market trends, sales performance, and competitive insights.
- - Oversee the resolution of customer issues to ensure high satisfaction and loyalty.
- - Train and mentor team members, providing coaching and performance feedback.
- - Organize regular training sessions to enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service skills of team members.
- - Foster a collaborative, results-driven environment that encourages professional growth and continuous improvement.
- - Stay updated with industry trends, competitor activities and best strategies, and ensure the team is informed and competitive.
- - Identify emerging market opportunities in the industry and potential new customer segments.
- - Work closely with other departments to ensure cohesive efforts toward shared goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in FMCG sales, including several years in sales management or a similar leadership role within the FMCG industry.
- Familiarity with the dynamics of fast-moving consumer goods, such as high competition, and consumer behavior trends.
- Experience in developing and executing sales strategies tailored to the FMCG market.
- Excellent analytical abilities, with experience in using sales data to drive decision-making.
- Strong problem-solving skills to quickly identify issues, analyze complex scenarios, and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent in verbal and written communication skills for effective negotiations, presentations, and relationship building with customers and other stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with different departments.
- Strong ability to lead, motivate, and manage diverse sales teams.
- Proven skills in coaching, performance management, and team development.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the agility to adapt strategies quickly in response to market changes.
- Willingness to work office-based, but with regular field visits to customers.
