We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Junior Accountant to support the day-to-day operations of the Finance & Accounting team. The role will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounting transactions, monitoring payables and receivables, performing reconciliations, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities.
The position will also provide exposure to project-based and construction accounting, including project cost monitoring, job costing, subcontractor and vendor transactions, and project-related financial reporting.
Record and maintain accurate accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and other financial transactions.
Assist in maintaining the general ledger and supporting schedules.
Perform account and bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
Maintain records for petty cash, employee reimbursements, and other accounting-related transactions.
Assist in maintaining fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
Ensure accounting documents and supporting records are complete, accurate, and properly filed.
Receive, review, and process vendor and subcontractor invoices.
Verify invoices against supporting documents such as purchase orders, delivery receipts, and other relevant records.
Assist in preparing payment requests and payment schedules for approval.
Monitor outstanding payables and coordinate with concerned departments regarding incomplete or missing documents.
Maintain organized records of vendor and subcontractor transactions.
Assist in preparing customer billings based on contracts, project accomplishments, and approved change orders.
Record and reconcile customer payments.
Monitor outstanding receivables and provide updates on collection status.
Assist in preparing accounts receivable aging reports and related schedules.
Coordinate with relevant departments regarding billing concerns and supporting documentation.
Assist in monitoring project-related costs, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project expenses.
Help maintain project cost records and supporting schedules.
Assist in monitoring project budgets against actual costs and identifying significant variances.
Support the preparation and updating of project cost and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports.
Assist in recording and monitoring approved project change orders.
Coordinate with project and operations teams to obtain necessary financial and cost-related information.
Support the Finance team in maintaining accurate project accounting records.
Assist in preparing accounting schedules and supporting documents required for tax compliance and statutory reporting.
Provide accounting records and documentation needed for internal and external audits.
Assist in maintaining proper documentation in accordance with company policies and internal controls.
Support the Finance team in ensuring timely and accurate submission of required financial documents and reports.
Prepare routine accounting reports and schedules as assigned.
Assist in preparing accounts payable and receivable aging reports, project cost summaries, and other financial reports.
Support budget-versus-actual analysis and investigate variances when necessary.
Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports and management schedules.
Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as may be assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Candidates with a degree in Accounting or a closely related discipline are preferred.
At least 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
Fresh graduates with relevant internship or practicum experience may be considered.
Experience in construction, engineering, project-based, or similar industries is an advantage.
Exposure to project accounting, job costing, accounts payable, or accounts receivable is a plus.
Good understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas, lookup functions, sorting/filtering, and PivotTables.
Familiarity with accounting software, ERP systems, or computerized accounting systems.
Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and account reconciliation processes.
Basic understanding of Philippine tax and statutory accounting requirements is an advantage.
