About the Company
We are a growing business group engaged in both Lending/Financing Services and Distribution/Trading Operations. Our lending company provides financial solutions to clients, while our distribution arm handles wholesale and retail product transactions. We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Officer (AR/AP) to manage receivables and payables across both business units.
Position Summary
The Accounting Officer (AR/AP) is responsible for overseeing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions for both the lending and distribution companies. The role ensures accurate recording of transactions, timely collections, proper disbursements, reconciliation of accounts, and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
This position requires strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to handle multi-entity accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
A. Accounts Receivable (AR) – Lending & Distribution
1. Lending Company (Loan Receivables)
- Record and monitor loan releases and repayment schedules.
- Reconcile borrower accounts and ensure accuracy of outstanding balances.
- Monitor aging of loan receivables.
- Coordinate with Credit/Collection Officers regarding overdue accounts.
- Prepare monthly AR aging reports and portfolio summaries.
- Record penalties, interest income, and adjustments accurately.
2. Distribution Company (Trade Receivables)
- Issue and record sales invoices.
- Monitor customer accounts and payment due dates.
- Prepare Statement of Accounts (SOA) for clients.
- Follow up on overdue accounts in coordination with the sales team.
- Reconcile customer payments (cash, bank transfers, checks).
- Maintain accurate customer ledger records.
B. Accounts Payable (AP) – Lending & Distribution
- Process supplier invoices and ensure completeness of supporting documents (PO, DR, invoice).
- Verify accuracy of pricing, quantities, and payment terms.
- Prepare vouchers and schedule payments.
- Monitor due dates and ensure timely disbursement.
- Record expenses, loan-related costs, and operational expenses properly.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain organized AP files and records.
C. Bank & Cash Reconciliation
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Monitor cash collections and deposits.
- Ensure accuracy between system records and bank balances.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
D. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Assist in preparation of monthly financial reports.
- Prepare AR/AP schedules for audit and management review.
- Ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
- Support tax documentation requirements (VAT, withholding taxes, etc.).
- Assist during internal and external audits.
E. Internal Controls & Documentation
- Ensure proper segregation of duties in AR/AP processes.
- Maintain updated filing system (physical and digital).
- Safeguard confidentiality of financial data.
- Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, or related field.
- At least 2–3 years experience in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
- Experience in lending/financing or trading/distribution industry is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to handle multi-company transactions.
- Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in loan portfolio accounting.
- Familiarity with inventory-related accounting (for distribution business).
