ALORICA TELESERVICES, INC. seeks a responsible server administrator to install, manage and optimize Windows and UNIX servers and related technologies.
The role includes maintaining network management systems, performing backups, and ensuring system performance aligns with IT policies. You will troubleshoot issues, implement patches, participate in disaster recovery planning and respond to service requests per SLA guidelines.
Job Duties Responsible for installing, administering and optimizing Windows and/or UNIX servers and components and related technologies. Support and maintain the network management system, including installations, formatting, backups, restoration, optimization of performance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of all systems.
Implement server installations, upgrades, routine maintenance and vendor-supplied patches in accordance with established Information Technology (IT) policies and procedures. Ensure proper installation of network management systems updates and perform data backup and recovery. Maintain standard operating procedures and documentation adhering to industry best practices.
Troubleshoot malfunctions of low to moderate complexity on Windows and/or UNIX systems. Isolate, diagnose, and resolve problems. Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
Perform server backups and recovery procedures. Participate in development, testing, and implementation of business continuity and disaster recovery plans. Prioritize and respond to Service Desk tickets as appropriate; provide timely response to escalations in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs).
Manage enterprise directory services and supporting server infrastructure. Act as a project resource and work with senior team members to assist with the design and review of new server systems, applications and hardware; assist senior team members with architecting the server infrastructure required to support these projects. Coordinate and participate in key process improvements as they relate to the client/server and core infrastructure services environment.
Additional Job Duties Responsible for understanding and complying with all policies, procedures, and regulations relating to job duties. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED - Required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience – Required Licenses or certifications – Preferred Experience
Required experience: Less than 2 years One year of related experience with current supported technologies required.
Preferred Experience Three years of related experience with current supported technologies preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics
Specific Job Related Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics: Ability to be on call 24 hours a day on a 7–day rotating schedule. Proficient personal computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Knowledge in one or more of the following technologies: UNIX, Windows, Citrix XenApp, DNS, DHCP, Exchange 2010, MS Clustering, Powershell, TMG, VMware ESX/ESXi/View/VMA. W2K3, W2K8, or Websense. General Job Level Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics
