Job summary

Alorica is seeking an ambitious IT Server Administrator to install, administer, and optimize Windows and UNIX servers along with related technologies. The role includes supporting the network management system, performing upgrades, patches, backups, and ensuring data recovery procedures.

Candidate should be able to troubleshoot issues, maintain SOPs, and participate in business continuity planning. Strong knowledge of VPNs, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, VMware and related tools is preferred.

Job description

Job Duties

• Responsible for installing, administering and optimizing Windows and/or UNIX servers and components and related technologies.
• Support and maintain the network management system, including installations, formatting, backups, restoration, optimization of performance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of all systems.
• Implement server installations, upgrades, routine maintenance and vendor-supplied patches in accordance with established Information Technology (IT) policies and procedures.
• Ensure proper installation of network management systems updates and perform data backup and recovery.
• Maintain standard operating procedures and documentation adhering to industry best practices.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions of low to moderate complexity on Windows and/or UNIX systems. Isolate, diagnose, and resolve problems.
• Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
• Perform server backups and recovery procedures.
• Participate in development, testing, and implementation of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
• Prioritize and respond to Service Desk tickets as appropriate; provide timely response to escalations in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs).
• Manage enterprise directory services and supporting server infrastructure.
• Act as a project resource and work with senior team members to assist with the design and review of new server systems, applications and hardware; assist senior team members with architecting the server infrastructure required to support these projects.
• Coordinate and participate in key process improvements as they relate to the client/server and core infrastructure services environment.
