Job summary

EastWest Banking Corporation in Makati is seeking an API Engineer to design, develop, test, implement, and support secure, scalable APIs and integration services across the bank's applications, digital channels, internal systems, and external partners.

You will ensure API solutions align with architecture, governance, and security standards while supporting digital banking and Open Finance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a tech field.
• 3-8+ years of software development or API engineering experience.
• Hands-on API design, development, testing, deployment, and support in enterprise environments.
• Proficiency in REST APIs, microservices, API gateways, CI/CD, and cloud technologies.
• Experience in banking or regulated industries is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable APIs and integration services.
• Create API specifications, designs, and artifacts following coding standards.
• Perform unit/integration testing and ensure quality, performance, and security.
• Support deployments, troubleshoot issues, and perform root-cause analysis.
• Monitor API performance and reliability, and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, QA, and business teams to ensure governance.
