Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to conduct facility audits and inspections.
• Experience developing and delivering HSE training and awareness programs.
• Capability to investigate accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Understanding of risk management programs and QMS/HSE procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular facility audits and inspections to identify hazards and implement controls.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable safety, hygiene, environmental and regulatory requirements, including recordkeeping and documentation.
• Assist leaders in interpreting and implementing risk management and HSE requirements.
• Develop and conduct HSE training, safety orientations, toolbox talks and awareness programs for employees, contractors, supervisors and management.
• Lead or assist in investigations of accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Assist in implementing and monitoring safety standards, including field and plant-site security requirements.
• Ensure compliance with QMS/HSE procedures, policies, standards and documentation requirements.

About the role

This role involves supervising, coordinating, developing, and implementing Health, Safety, Environment, Loss Prevention, and Occupational Health programs across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular facility audits and inspections to identify unsafe working conditions, hazards, and potential risks, and develop appropriate controls or corrective measures

• Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, and regulatory requirements, including proper recordkeeping and documentation

• Assist line leaders and supervisors in the interpretation and implementation of risk management programs and HSE requirements

• Develop and conduct HSE training, safety orientations, toolbox meetings, and awareness programs for employees, contractors, supervisors, and management

• Lead or assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, determine root causes, and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions

• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of construction and project safety standards, including field and plant-site security requirements

• Ensure compliance with QMS/HSE-related procedures, policies, standards, and documentation requirements
