The HR Generalist is responsible for managing and supporting key Human Resources functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, labor compliance, and HR administration. The role ensures the effective delivery of end-to-end recruitment processes, implementation of HR programs, maintenance of employee records, and compliance with company policies and labor regulations.

The main responsibilities of a HR GENERALIST 2 include:

I. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

The HR Generalist is responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment process to ensure the timely acquisition of qualified talent and a positive candidate experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including manpower requisition, job posting, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer management, and onboarding.

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing requirements, role expectations, competencies, and hiring timelines.

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies through job portals, social media, referrals, recruitment agencies, career fairs, and talent pooling initiatives.

  • Coordinate recruitment activities, including job fairs, campus recruitment programs, and hiring events in partnership with academic institutions, government agencies, and external organizations.

  • Conduct candidate screening and initial interviews to assess qualifications, competencies, and cultural fit.

  • Facilitate candidate communications, interview scheduling, assessments, and feedback consolidation.

  • Prepare employment offers, pre-employment requirements, and onboarding documentation.

  • Lead onboarding activities, including employee orientation and endorsement to business units.

  • Maintain recruitment databases, applicant trackers, hiring pipelines, and onboarding records.

  • Monitor recruitment metrics and recommend process improvements to enhance hiring efficiency.

  • Support employer branding initiatives and talent attraction programs.

II. Compensation & Benefits

The HR Generalist supports payroll administration, compensation and benefits management, HRIS maintenance, and statutory compliance to ensure accurate and compliant employee compensation practices.

Payroll Administration

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing and ensure timely salary release.

  • Validate payroll inputs, including attendance, overtime, leaves, deductions, and adjustments.

  • Review payroll outputs, earnings, taxes, statutory deductions, and benefit-related transactions.

  • Process final pay, separation pay, back pay, and off-cycle payroll requirements.

  • Coordinate payroll approvals with HR and Finance stakeholders.

  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll concerns promptly.

Compensation & Benefits Administration

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including HMO, insurance, allowances, leave benefits, and other company-sponsored programs.

  • Manage employee enrollment, updates, and separation from benefit providers.

  • Address employee inquiries regarding compensation, deductions, and benefits.

  • Support salary adjustments, promotions, and compensation-related changes.

  • Maintain accurate compensation and benefits records.

HRIS Management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate employee information and records within the HRIS.

  • Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity across HR systems.

  • Generate reports related to headcount, compensation, payroll, benefits, and employee movements.

  • Coordinate system concerns, enhancements, and troubleshooting activities.

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and information security requirements.

Government Statutory Compliance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate computation, deduction, and remittance of statutory contributions and taxes.

  • Prepare and submit required government reports and filings within prescribed deadlines.

  • Monitor changes in labor, tax, and regulatory requirements.

  • Support government audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.

  • Maintain complete and audit-ready statutory documentation.

Reporting & Compliance Support

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare payroll, compensation, benefits, and compliance reports for management review.

  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.

  • Identify payroll and compliance risks and recommend corrective actions.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and regulatory requirements.

III. Health, Safety, Wellbeing, and HR Administration

The HR Generalist supports workplace health and safety initiatives, employee wellbeing programs, HR administration, and compliance activities to promote a safe, healthy, and productive work environment.

Health, Safety & Workplace Compliance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of workplace health and safety policies and programs.

  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards and company guidelines.

  • Assist in safety orientations, awareness campaigns, and employee education programs.

  • Monitor workplace incidents, hazards, and safety concerns, and coordinate corrective actions.

  • Maintain safety-related documentation, records, and compliance reports.

  • Support emergency preparedness activities, drills, and safety briefings.

Employee Wellbeing & Support Programs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing employee wellbeing, wellness, and mental health initiatives.

  • Support programs that promote employee engagement, work-life balance, and workplace wellness.

  • Coordinate employee assistance and support programs when necessary.

  • Gather employee feedback and recommend improvements to wellbeing initiatives.

  • Promote awareness of available employee support resources and HR programs.

HR Administrative Support

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day HR administrative and operational support.

  • Maintain employee records, HR files, and confidential documentation.

  • Prepare HR reports, memos, announcements, and internal communications.

  • Coordinate HR meetings, interviews, training sessions, and employee activities.

  • Support onboarding, offboarding, clearance, and documentation processes.

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of HR records and database updates.

Coordination & Compliance Support

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support compliance with labor laws, company policies, workplace safety requirements, and employee welfare standards.

  • Coordinate with external vendors, government agencies, and service providers as needed.

  • Assist during audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.

  • Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and proper handling of all employee and HR-related information.

To apply, you must be an expert on the following requirements:

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a multi-functional Human Resources role, preferably within BPO, technology, startup, or other fast-paced operational environments.

  • Proven experience in end-to-end recruitment and talent acquisition, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer management, and onboarding.

  • Strong background in Compensation and Benefits administration, including payroll processing, benefits management, employee inquiries, and compensation-related support.

  • Experience in HRIS administration, including employee data management, system updates, reporting, and ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Working knowledge of Philippine labor laws, government-mandated benefits, and statutory compliance requirements, including SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and BIR regulations.

  • Exposure to employee engagement programs, workplace health and safety initiatives, and employee wellbeing activities is an advantage.

  • Experience supporting HR compliance, audits, government reporting, and documentation requirements.

  • Proficient in HR systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for reporting, tracking, and data analysis.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential employee and company information.

  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving capability, and ability to work effectively under pressure.

  • Customer-service oriented with the ability to balance employee support, business needs, and operational HR requirements.
