About the role

RVS Cargo Services Inc. is seeking a dynamic and experienced Freight Forwarding Manager to join our team in Binondo, Manila City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing and optimising our freight forwarding operations. As Freight Forwarding Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of our cargo forwarding services, ensuring timely delivery, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer satisfaction. This role is integral to maintaining our reputation as a trusted logistics partner and directly impacts the efficiency and profitability of our operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the daily operations of freight forwarding activities.
• Coordinate with international carriers, customs brokers, and logistics partners to ensure smooth movement of goods and compliance with shipping regulations
• Monitor shipment progress and provide real-time updates to clients regarding their cargo status and delivery timelines
• Manage and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and commercial invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Negotiate freight rates and service terms with carriers and logistics providers to optimise costs whilst maintaining service quality
• Handle client inquiries and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to shipments, customs clearance, or delivery
• Prepare and manage quotations for freight forwarding services, providing competitive pricing to prospective clients
• Supervise and train freight forwarding staff, ensuring adherence to company procedures and best practices
• Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and safety standards
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, transactions, and client communications for audit and reference purposes
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and implement cost‑saving measures within the department

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• 5+ years of professional experience in freight forwarding, shipping, or logistics management
• Comprehensive knowledge of international shipping procedures, customs regulations, and trade compliance standards
• Strong understanding of air cargo, sea freight, and multimodal transportation services
• Experience with freight forwarding software systems and documentation platforms
• Proven negotiation skills with the ability to secure favourable rates and terms with carriers and partners
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with capability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients, carriers, and internal teams
• Detail‑oriented approach to ensure accuracy in shipping documentation and compliance matters
• Leadership and supervisory experience with the ability to train and motivate team members
• Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to handle complex logistics challenges and find practical solutions
• Familiarity with Philippine customs procedures and regulations is highly desirable
• Professional certification such as CIFFA, IATA, or equivalent freight forwarding qualifications is advantageous
