Qualifications

About the role

RVS Cargo Services Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Customs Processor to join our Import/Export & Customs team. This is a full-time position based in Binondo, Manila City, Metro Manila. As a Customs Processor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and compliant movement of goods across international borders. You will be responsible for managing customs documentation, liaising with regulatory authorities, and ensuring all shipments meet legal requirements. This position is essential to maintaining our operational efficiency and regulatory compliance, directly supporting the success of our cargo services operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate customs documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and customs declaration forms

• Process import and export shipments in accordance with customs regulations and company procedures

• Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and clients to facilitate timely clearance of goods

• Review shipping documents for completeness and accuracy before submission to customs agencies

• Classify goods according to the Harmonised Tariff Schedule and determine applicable duties and taxes

• Monitor and track shipment status throughout the customs clearance process

• Maintain detailed records of all customs transactions and documentation

• Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues with customs documentation and procedures

• Ensure compliance with all relevant customs regulations, international trade laws, and company policies

• Communicate with clients regarding customs requirements and expected clearance timelines

• Stay updated on changes to customs regulations and international trade requirements

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or a similar role in the import/export industry

• Strong knowledge of customs procedures, tariff classifications, and import/export regulations in the Philippines

• Familiarity with customs documentation systems and software platforms

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to accurately process complex documentation

• Strong organisational and time management skills to manage multiple shipments simultaneously

• Good communication skills to effectively interact with clients, customs officials, and colleagues

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

• High level of integrity and commitment to ethical business practices

• Knowledge of international trade agreements and Incoterms is preferred

• Certification in customs brokerage or related qualifications is advantageous
