Job description

Job Description:

The Finance Reconciliation Supervisor owns the integrity of the balance sheet for the assigned legal entities. This covers the monthly reconciliation of all general ledger accounts, the timely resolution of open items and aged variances, and the readiness of supporting schedules for internal and external audit.

Equally important, the role is a people-management position. The Supervisor leads a small team of analysts - assigning account ownership, reviewing their work, coaching them on technical accounting and reconciliation discipline, and holding them accountable to close deadlines and quality standards.

What You’ll Do:
  • Own the end-to-end monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts for the company, including cash and bank, receivables, prepayments, accruals, employee advances, intercompany, fixed assets, and equity accounts.
  • Review and approve reconciliations prepared by analysts; ensure every balance is substantiated by third-party or independently verifiable support, not by system-to-system ties alone.
  • Maintain the balance sheet reconciliation tracker and certification status: preparer, reviewer, sign-off date, risk rating, and open-item aging.
  • Prepare and review journal entries arising from reconciliations, ensuring accuracy of account, cost center, entity, and currency treatment.
  • Deliver assigned close activities within the corporate close calendar and confirm completion against the close checklist.
  • Prepare or review balance sheet flux and month-over-month variance analysis, applying agreed materiality thresholds and providing business-driven explanations for flagged movements.
  • Directly supervise 3–5 analysts: allocate account ownership based on risk and complexity, balance workloads across the close cycle, and manage leave and coverage planning.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones, set and track individual objectives, and deliver mid-year and year-end performance appraisals.
  • Ensure reconciliation controls are performed, evidenced, and retained in an audit-ready manner.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for external and internal auditors on balance sheet areas; coordinate PBC schedules and respond to audit queries.
  • Identify control gaps and implement remediation; support SOX / internal control testing where applicable.
  • Identify manual, repetitive, or high-error reconciliation activities and lead standardization or automation initiatives.
  • Contribute to requirements definition and testing for reconciliation tooling and ERP enhancements.
  • Track and report on reconciliation KPIs; use the data to prioritize improvement work rather than to chase symptoms.
  • Communicate reconciliation status, risks, and unresolved exposures clearly to Finance leadership.
What You Need to Have:
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in general accounting, controllership, or a finance shared-services environment, with substantial hands-on balance sheet reconciliation exposure.
  • At least 1–2 years of formal supervisory experience, including performance management of direct reports.
  • Working knowledge of PFRS / PAS and their practical application to balance sheet accounts.
  • Hands-on ERP experience [SAP S/4HANA] including GL, sub-ledger tie-outs, and report extraction.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, large-volume data handling, reconciliation modeling).
Job Perks You'll Enjoy:
  • Permanent dayshift schedule
  • Up to 20% variable performance-based bonus
  • HMO on Day 1 and HMO dependents coverage including same-sex partners
  • Access to mental health and wellness partners
  • Wellness Leaves and Birthday Leave
  • Internal career mobility options
  • Local and international learning opportunities
