Job summary

Your Virtual People, Inc. is seeking a Finance and Payroll Officer to manage the full payroll cycle and financial operations. You will oversee payroll processing, data entry, account reconciliations, and collaborate with external partners to ensure tax compliance and reporting accuracy.

The role requires meticulous records management, adherence to confidentiality, and collaboration across HR and finance. Primarily based at head office with occasional remote work as policy permits.

Qualifications

• Essential: Qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Finance.
• Essential: Minimum 3 years experience in payroll processing and financial operations.
• Proficient in Xero and Timepro (or similar systems).
• Solid knowledge of Modern Awards, compliant payroll processing and BAS/PAYG obligations.

Responsibilities

• Payroll: collect timesheets and validate data, calculate entitlements, process payroll on time, handle reimbursements and statutory submissions, maintain employee records, generate payroll reports.
• Finance and accounting: create and manage project numbers, prepare sales invoices, manage aged receivables and payables, reconcile bank accounts, allocate costs accurately.
• Compliance: assist with BAS, PAYG, annual tax returns, ensure adherence to accounting standards and company policies.
