Remote People is building a borderless payroll platform and seeks a Payroll Specialist to support multi-country payroll operations. The role focuses on processing, validating, reconciling, and resolving payroll issues, coordinating with internal teams and payroll partners, and ensuring accurate outputs for clients and employees.

The candidate should grasp payroll fundamentals and adapt quickly to new country requirements.

Qualifications

• Hands-on payroll experience, ideally including in-house processing.
• Experience managing payroll for at least one country independently.
• Strong understanding of payroll inputs, calculations, validations, reconciliations, and outputs.
• Ability to investigate discrepancies and understand why payroll results have changed.
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with payroll data and numbers.
• Proficient with Excel/Google Sheets and automated tools.
• Strong English communication skills and ability to work with internal teams and payroll partners.
• Willingness to learn new systems and adapt to evolving payroll processes.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end payroll processing and validation for multiple countries.
• Collect, review, and validate payroll inputs and outputs.
• Perform payroll reconciliations and identify discrepancies.
• Investigate payroll differences and resolve with internal teams or partners.
• Support payroll changes such as new hires, terminations, salary changes, bonuses, and deductions.
• Review payroll calculations and supporting information for accuracy.
• Communicate with internal payroll teams and external partners to resolve questions.
• Maintain payroll records, documentation, and trackers.
• Work with payroll technology and automated tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Learn and support additional countries as operations evolve.
