Job summary

CloudEats seeks a Facilities Engineering Officer to ensure day-to-day upkeep of kitchen facilities and equipment across multiple outlets and support locations in Metro Manila. You will support preventive and corrective maintenance, asset data accuracy, and safety compliance under the Facilities and Repairs Manager.

You will coordinate repairs, maintain records, and assist in budgeting and supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent hands-on facilities/maintenance experience.
• 2–3 years of experience in facilities, repair, or maintenance; F&B / hospitality multi-site ops preferred.
• Strong knowledge of civil/architectural, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems; kitchen equipment exposure is a plus.
• Licensed Electrical Engineer or Licensed Mechanical Engineer preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma certification is an advantage; ERP/CMMS experience (NetSuite) valued.
• Proficiency with ERP/CMMS tools, Excel, and spreadsheet tracking.

• Maintain and update equipment records and maintenance schedules; perform routine inspections.

Job description

The Facilities Engineering Officer provides frontline execution and support for the continuous upkeep of facilities and equipment across F&B outlets and support locations, working under the direction of the Facilities and Repairs Manager. The role ensures the day-to-day functionality of kitchen facilities and equipment, supports preventive and corrective maintenance programs, and helps maintain accurate maintenance and asset data that feeds into the Manager's reporting and decision-making. Particular attention is given to (1) hot cooking equipment such as fryers, griddles, and burners, which directly drive food production and sales generation, and (2) cold storage and refrigeration equipment, where downtime is treated as a food safety risk. Failures in either category take priority over non-critical repairs. The role also provides essential support in conducting facility evaluations, verifying equipment operational integrity, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols, risk management procedures, and hazard mitigation standards. This position reports directly to the Facilities and Repairs Manager.

Main Duties

1. Facilities Operations & Maintenance Support

• Provide day-to-day support for facilities operations, helping ensure functionality, safety, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Assist in coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance programs for civil/architectural, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC components.
• Respond promptly to urgent repair needs and respond promptly?
• Coordinate and execute assigned repair activities across outlets and facilities.
• Maintain and update equipment records, create and follow maintenance schedules, and perform routine inspections.
• Monitor equipment condition and escalated issues to the Facilities and Repairs Manager.

3. Asset Management Support

• Maintain an updated inventory of facilities, utilities, and kitchen equipment.
• Support asset tagging, documentation, and monitoring of asset conditions.
• Flag assets nearing end-of-life or requiring replacement to support lifecycle planning.

4. Data Monitoring & Reporting Support

• Maintain accurate, timely records of repair, maintenance, and asset utilization data.
• Track key metrics (downtime hours, repair frequency, maintenance cost per asset) for roll-up into Manager-level reporting.
• Assist in preparing reports and flagging insights on recurring issues or cost drivers.
• Support relationships with maintenance contractors and service providers to ensure timely, effective issue resolution.
• Assist in expanding the pool of qualified service providers, verifying service quality, manpower sufficiency, and financial stability.
• Coordinate with procurement on sourcing parts, materials, and services.

6. Budget Support

• Assist the Facilities and Repairs Manager in developing and managing the facility maintenance budget.
• Track spend against allocated budget and flag variances or cost-saving opportunities.
• Support cost-effective sourcing and negotiation with suppliers under the Manager's guidance.
• May approve routine, low-value repair costs up to a threshold set by the Facilities and Repairs Manager [amount TBD]; all costs above this threshold require the Manager's prior approval.

7. Compliance & Safety Support

• Help ensure facilities, maintenance, and asset management activities comply with local regulations, health and safety standards, and company policy.
• Support the implementation and enforcement of safety protocols on-site.
• Assist in conducting regular audits and inspections of facilities and assets, and support emergency response and incident-management protocols.
• Train frontline staff on proper equipment use as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field — or equivalent hands-on facilities/maintenance experience.
• At least 2–3 years of experience in facilities, repair, or maintenance work; experience in F&B, QSR, hospitality, or retail multi-site operations is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of civil/architectural, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems; kitchen equipment exposure (hot line and cold storage equipment) is a strong plus.
• Licensed Electrical Engineer or Licensed Mechanical Engineer preferred.
• A strong background in Lean Six Sigma, with certification, is an advantage.
• Comfortable working with ERP/CMMS tools (NetSuite), Excel, and spreadsheet-based tracking (Google Sheets, In-house Maintenance Dashboard).

Work Conditions & Availability

• Field-based role requiring regular travel across multiple F&B outlets and support locations.
• Must be available to respond to urgent repair and emergency situations outside regular working hours, including weekends, given the nature of kitchen operations.
• Requires physical inspection of facilities and equipment, including exposure to kitchen heat, moisture, and noise.
• Hot line equipment (fryers, griddles, burners) and cold storage equipment failures directly affect sales generation and food safety, respectively — response to these takes priority over non-critical repairs.
