The Maintenance and Repair Technician ensures that all factory and commissary equipment, facilities are in optimal working condition. This role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to support smooth and continuous production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on machines, refrigeration systems, ovens, conveyors, and other production equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues to minimize downtime.
- Ensure safety compliance by following proper lockout/tagout procedures and equipment safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts inventory.
- Coordinate with production teams to schedule maintenance without disrupting operations.
- Assist in installation and setup of new machines or facility systems.
- Support facility upkeep, including lighting, ventilation, and basic building repairs.
- Work with external contractors for specialized maintenance services when needed.
Qualifications:
- Technical or vocational diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Technology (or related field).
- At least 2 years of experience in maintenance within a factory, commissary, or food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, motors, sensors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation standards (GMP, 5S).
- Physically fit, detail-oriented, and capable of working under pressure.
- Willing to work on shift schedules, weekends, or holidays when required.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience with refrigeration systems or boiler operations is a plus.
- Certification in Electrical NC II/III or Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
