The Preventive Maintenance Officer (PMO) is responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted daily operations of the restaurant by proactively maintaining all building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and commercial kitchen equipment. Operating in a high-volume BGC dining establishment, the PMO minimizes operational downtime, ensures strict compliance with BGC estate building management and local health/safety regulations, and manages vendor performance.
Execute routine preventive maintenance schedules for commercial kitchen equipment (heavy-duty fryers, combination ovens, walk-in chillers/freezers, ice machines, exhaust hoods, and fire suppression systems).
Inspect, service, and clean HVAC/air-conditioning units, ventilation systems, grease traps, and plumbing lines to prevent blockages, odors, or unexpected failures.
Conduct regular electrical circuit, lighting, and generator/UPS checks to ensure compliance with Philippine Electrical Code and restaurant safety standards.
Serve as the primary technical point of contact with BGC Building Management and Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation (FBDC) representatives for building permits, hot work permits, night work clearances, and safety audits.
Ensure strict compliance with sanitation, wastewater treatment (grease trap management), pest control, and local fire safety codes (BFP).
Perform immediate troubleshooting and emergency minor repairs during shift hours for electromechanical or plumbing failures.
Work with external equipment vendors and specialized technicians for major overhauls or warranty work, inspecting deliverables before sign-off.
Maintain a digital log of all maintenance activities, parts replacements, equipment history, and utility consumption (electricity, water, LPG/gas).
Maintain inventory levels of critical spare parts, light bulbs, filters, and standard maintenance consumables to avoid delays during repairs.
CategoryRequirementEducation:
Technical Vocational Diploma or College Graduate in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology.
Certifications:
TESDA NC II/III Certification (Electrical Installation & Maintenance, RAC / HVAC) is strongly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in facilities management or equipment maintenance within a commercial kitchen, high-volume restaurant, hotel, or retail chain.
Technical Expertise:
Working knowledge of refrigeration systems, commercial gas/LPG lines, deep fryers, three-phase power systems, and grease trap systems.
Local Knowledge:
Familiarity with BGC building management policies, safety protocols, and estate guidelines is a strong advantage.
Problem-Solving & Agility: Strong diagnostic skills to identify equipment failures under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Communication: Ability to write concise technical reports and liaise effectively with restaurant staff, vendors, and building engineers.
Working Conditions: Must be comfortable working in kitchen environments (exposure to heat, cold, and high noise levels), climbing ladders, lifting heavy tools (up to 25 kg), and flexible to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require.
