Asaba Manufacturing Phils., Inc is seeking an experienced Facilities & Safety Manager to oversee facilities operations, maintenance planning, and regulatory compliance for the site in Laguna. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, manage contractors, and drive safety and environmental programs across the plant.
The role requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, 10 years of facilities experience, and relevant certifications.
Oversee the overall operation, maintenance, and safety of building facilities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection systems, compressors, equipment, and other facility-related systems.
Plan and monitor preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and facility improvement projects in coordination with internal teams, contractors, technicians, and service providers.
Monitor and track maintenance requests, work orders, repair activities, and facility-related concerns using Maintenance Management Systems.
Monitor utility consumption and building management systems and implement measures for energy conservation, cost reduction, and efficient resource utilization.
Conduct regular inspections, safety patrols, and audits of the building, manufacturing areas, equipment, and work practices to identify hazards, facility deficiencies, and potential safety risks.
Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, fire safety requirements, occupational safety and health standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
Implement and enforce safety procedures and programs, and conduct safety orientations, toolbox meetings, emergency drills, and other safety awareness activities.
Lead or support the investigation of accidents, injuries, near-miss incidents, and other safety-related events, including identification of root causes and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure the availability, proper issuance, use, maintenance, and inventory of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), safety equipment, tools, spare parts, and facility supplies.
Coordinate emergency response activities involving power failures, water leaks, equipment breakdowns, fire alarms, security incidents, spills, and other facility emergencies.
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities, manpower, and work schedules of maintenance, janitorial, security, and other facility personnel to ensure adequate operational support.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching and feedback, and support the training and professional development of assigned personnel.
Ensure employees are properly trained on equipment, work procedures, safety requirements, emergency response, and applicable company policies.
Coordinate the preparation and setup of offices, meeting rooms, and event areas, including furniture, lighting, audiovisual equipment, and other facility requirements.
Ensure proper management of environmental compliance activities, including air emissions, wastewater, noise, solid waste, hazardous waste, and other applicable environmental requirements.
Maintain and monitor environmental permits, clearances, certifications, regulatory documents, and compliance requirements, including timely renewal and submission.
Coordinate the proper storage, handling, treatment, transportation, and disposal of hazardous waste through authorized service providers.
Prepare and submit required environmental monitoring and regulatory compliance reports within prescribed deadlines.
Serve as the company representative and point of contact during government inspections, regulatory audits, and investigations related to facility, safety, and environmental compliance.
Implement programs for waste minimization, recycling, energy conservation, spill prevention, and environmental risk reduction.
Coordinate with different departments to address facility, safety, and environmental concerns and monitor the completion of corrective actions.
Provide regular reports and updates to senior management regarding facility conditions, maintenance activities, safety and environmental compliance, ongoing projects, operational concerns, manpower requirements, and resource needs.
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in building facilities management, maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
SO2 (Safety Officer 2) certification is required.
Pollution Control Officer (PCO) certification is required.
Qualified Energy Manager (QEM) certification or relevant experience in energy management is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of facility operations, building maintenance, occupational safety, environmental compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Experience in managing contractors, service providers, maintenance personnel, and facility-related projects.
Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
