Job summary

WHR Global Consulting is seeking a Project Engineering Manager to lead technical coordination for coal-fired power plant projects in the Philippines. The role acts as the single technical authority across Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Control Systems disciplines.

You will ensure complete, accurate engineering deliverables, support procurement, construction, and commissioning, and manage interfaces with clients, EPC contractors, and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical). Master's degree is an advantage.
• Registered Professional Engineer.
• 12+ years of total engineering experience in large industrial or power plant construction.
• 8+ years in engineering leadership roles on coal-fired plant projects.
• Experience in EPC/EPCM environments for utility-scale plant projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the single technical authority for the project, providing direction across all engineering disciplines.

Job description

The Project Engineering Manager is responsible for overall technical coordination and engineering management of coal-fired power plant projects. The role ensures engineering deliverables are complete, accurate, and issued on time to support procurement, construction, commissioning, and contractual requirements. This position acts as the single technical authority for the project and coordinates across all engineering disciplines and interfaces.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Technical Leadership & Single Point of Authority: Serve as the single technical authority for the project, providing overall direction and technical decision-making across all engineering disciplines.
• Cross-Discipline Engineering Coordination: Coordinate, align, and manage interfaces among Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Control Systems disciplines to ensure cohesive project execution.
• Deliverable Quality & Schedule Management: Oversee the complete, accurate, and timely issuance of all engineering deliverables, drawings, and specifications to support EPC/EPCM project milestones.
• Procurement & Construction Support: Provide direct technical oversight for procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and design intent.
• Technical Interface & Stakeholder Management: Manage technical interfaces with external stakeholders, including clients, EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, and regulatory bodies, for utility-scale coal-fired power plant projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical). Master's Degree is an advantage
• Registered Professional Engineer
• At least twelve (12) years of total engineering experience in large industrial or power plant construction.
• At least eight (8) years in engineering leadership roles on coal-fired plant projects.
• Strong experience in EPC/EPCM environments for utility-scale plant projects.
