Job summary

Holcim Philippines, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer – Electrical to drive plant reliability by leading E&I projects from concept to sign-off.

You will develop CAPEX proposals, supervise on-site installations, coordinate with operations and suppliers, and ensure safety and quality standards.

The role requires hands-on project management, strong AutoCAD and MS Project skills, and experience in cement or heavy industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Licensed/Registered Engineer preferred).
• Minimum 3 years in industrial electrical engineering or capital project execution.
• Experience in cement manufacturing or heavy industry preferred.
• Strong AutoCAD and MS Project skills.
• Knowledge of MAC/SAP for project costing and maintenance tracking.

Job description

We are looking for a Project Engineer – Electrical to drive our plant forward. In this role, you’ll own projects from napkin sketch to final sign-off: developing CAPEX proposals, managing contractor bids, and supervising on-site electrical & instrumentation (E&I) installations that boost plant reliability and performance.

What You’ll Do

• Design & Justify Projects: Conduct studies to solve recurring equipment issues. Build bulletproof quantitative and qualitative justifications (CAPEX/Non-CAPEX) with full ROI and feasibility analysis.

• Lead Bid & Procurement: Draft technical tender packages, evaluate bids, and pitch recommendations to the procurement committee (BIPCOM) to get optimum value for the business.

• Supervise Site Execution: Lead hands-on execution of E&I projects. Run contractor briefings, verify critical site measurements/alignments, and ensure material availability for zero-delay rollouts.

• Deliver Results & Quality: Keep projects strictly on time, within budget, and fully compliant with corporate safety and engineering standards. Track progress, apply catch-up plans when needed, and score contractor performance.

• Collaborate with Operations: Work side-by-side with Production and Maintenance Superintendents to eliminate technical bottlenecks beyond daily maintenance scope.

What We’re Looking For

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Licensed/Registered Engineer preferred).

• Experience: 3+ years in industrial electrical engineering, capital project execution, or heavy manufacturing plant maintenance.

• Technical & Software Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of the cement manufacturing process (or heavy industry equivalent).

  • Hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD for drafting and reviewing engineering details.

  • Broad expertise in MS Project (Basic & Advanced) for scheduling, baseline tracking, and timeline management.

  • Working knowledge of MAC / SAP for project costing, requisitions, and maintenance tracking.

  • Proven track record in core Project Management methodologies, including CAPEX budgeting, financial feasibility, and contractor supervision.

• Core Competencies: Expertise in MV/LV electrical distribution, PLCs, instrumentation, and an uncompromising commitment to site safety and quality assurance.
