Job summary

Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

To develop and manage effective maintenance plans and schedules for mechanical equipment, ensuring the timely allocation of manpower, materials, tools, services, and other resources to safely and efficiently execute preventive, predictive, corrective, and outage maintenance activities, thereby maximizing reliability, availability, and overall plant performance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Attend Operations and Maintenance Coordination Meetings.

• Work closely with operations, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams to ensure that all plant systems function cohesively.

• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for Contracted Services.

• Conduct or attend regular safety meetings.

• Provide technical guidance and ensure all work is planned and completed in compliance with codes and standards.

• Develop annual goals and actions plans to fully support organizational goals, plans, and strategies. Secure the commitment of direct reports and working teams in the achievement of organizational targets, goals and plans.

• Develop and implement maintenance strategies for all plant equipment. including boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems.

• Create detailed maintenance schedules for planned outages and routine maintenance, equipment condition monitoring, ensuring minimal disruption to plant operations.

• Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to optimize downtime and ensure timely completion of work.

• Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to plan, track, and report maintenance activities.

• Provide reports on the NDT tests like vibration analysis and provide recommendations for the corrective actions.

• Support the improvement Projects Supervisor in collaborating with the Plant personnel to design and implement improvement for plant systems.

• Help in preparing the Planning and Technical Services Section budget and ensuring cost-effective measures.

• Help in managing the inventory of spare parts, tools and equipment, ensuring availability when needed.

• Create purchase requisitions of parts and services and scrutinize the offers during the technical evaluation phase and do technical inspections during the delivery of items.

• Help in managing and overseeing projects and contracted services related to Annual PMS minor and major activities.

• Prepare project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resources plans for Annual PMS Contracted Services.

• Ensure that projects and services are completed on times, within budget and meet all quality and safety standards.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all technical and maintenance activities.

• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and updates for plant management and external stakeholders.

• Contribute to the development and revision of maintenance procedures.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

• Knowledge of CFB boilers and thermal power plant systems, including major mechanical and balance-of-plant equipment.

• Considerable knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and reliability requirements of high-pressure boilers and associated mechanical equipment.

• Sound knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment, including design, operation, inspection, repair, and maintenance practices.

• Knowledge and application of maintenance planning and scheduling principles, including preventive, predictive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance.

• Ability to develop and manage maintenance work plans and schedules, including manpower, materials, tools, equipment, services, work sequence, and estimated duration.

• Knowledge and application of outage planning and scheduling practices, including work packaging, resources loading, critical-path activities, and progress monitoring.

• Working knowledge of EAM/CMMS systems, such as Maximo, for work-order management, maintenance history, job plans, backlog, and maintenance reporting.

• Knowledge of maintenance materials, spare parts, tools, and external services, with the ability to coordinate their timely availability.

• Ability to interpret equipment manuals, drawing, technical specifications, maintenance procedures, and inspection reports.

• Ability to analyze maintenance data, equipment history, and failure trends to support maintenance prioritization and reliability improvement.

• Working knowledge of problem-solving and reliability tools, including Root Cause Analysis, 5-Why, Pareto Analysis, and Cause-and-Effect Analysis.

• Knowledge and application of applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and safety requirements, including permit-to-work and LOTO practices.

• Ability to prepare maintenance reports, schedules, and presentations using Microsoft Office or equivalent applications.

• Strong coordination, communication, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work effectively with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement, Warehouse, contractors, and supplies.

• Knowledge and observance of 5s, Kaizen, continuous improvement, environmental, health, and safety principles.
