Confidential Jobs in Mexico is seeking an Experienced Employee Relations & Mexico Labor Compliance Partner to foster a fair, compliant workplace across Mexico operations. You will partner with leaders, HR, Legal, and employees to manage relations matters, investigations, and risk, while guiding policy and NOM compliance.

This senior role demands 5+ years in ER/Labor Compliance with Mexico, a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), and strong English and Spanish communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
  • Master's or certification preferred in Labor Law, Compliance, or HR.
  • 5+ years direct Employee Relations/Labor Compliance experience in Mexico.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations cases including investigations, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, attendance concerns, grievances, performance-related issues, and employee complaints.
  • Ensure compliance with Mexican Federal Labor Law, labor regulations, employment documentation requirements, labor inspections, labor audits, and government authority inquiries.
  • Lead governance and compliance activities related to applicable Official Mexican Standards (NOMs), including annual compliance planning, audit readiness, corrective actions, and regulatory monitoring.
  • Provide strategic employee relations and labor compliance consulting to leaders, managers, and HR teams, including risk assessments, performance management support, and difficult employee conversations.
  • Oversee policy governance activities including policy interpretation, updates, handbook governance, and consistent application of company policies and disciplinary processes

Job description

The Employee Relations & Mexico Labor Compliance Partner is responsible for fostering a fair, respectful, and legally compliant workplace across Mexico operations. This role partners closely with leaders, HR Business Partners, Legal, and employees to manage employee relations matters, conduct workplace investigations, mitigate labor and compliance risks, and ensure adherence to Mexican labor laws and applicable Official Mexican Standards (NOMs). The position provides strategic guidance on employee relations issues while maintaining organizational compliance and supporting a positive employee experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage employee relations cases including investigations, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, attendance concerns, grievances, performance-related issues, and employee complaints.
  • Ensure compliance with Mexican Federal Labor Law, labor regulations, employment documentation requirements, labor inspections, labor audits, and government authority inquiries.
  • Lead governance and compliance activities related to applicable Official Mexican Standards (NOMs), including annual compliance planning, audit readiness, corrective actions, and regulatory monitoring.
  • Provide strategic employee relations and labor compliance consulting to leaders, managers, and HR teams, including risk assessments, performance management support, and difficult employee conversations.
  • Oversee policy governance activities including policy interpretation, updates, handbook governance, and consistent application of company policies and disciplinary processes
  • Monitor compliance and employee relations trends, maintain dashboards and metrics, identify organizational risks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Knowledge & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Labor Relations, Law, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field required.
  • Master's Degree or specialized certification in Labor Law, Employee Relations, Compliance, or Human Resources preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience in Employee Relations, Labor Compliance, Workplace Investigations, or Labor Relations within Mexico.

Strong knowledge of:

  • Mexican Federal Labor Law (LFT)
  • Labor inspections and STPS requirements
  • Official Mexican Standards (NOMs)
  • Workplace investigations and disciplinary processes
  • Risk management and compliance frameworks
  • Advanced interpersonal, consultation, conflict resolution, and influencing skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with discretion
  • Bilingual Spanish and English (Advanced in English)
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Minimum level of education or education/experience: Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum years of work experience: 5 years in direct experience in Employee Relations, Labor Compliance, Workplace Investigations, or Labor Relations within Mexico.
