Job summary

RELX is seeking an Employee Relations Partner to advise and support managers and employees across Latin America, the US and Canada on a broad range of ER matters. You will conduct workplace investigations, guide disciplinary actions, and help ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies while delivering fair, well-documented outcomes.

This role requires collaboration with HR Business Partners and the global ER team, with hybrid work at the Reforma office in Mexico City.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Employee Relations, HR, or Labor Relations.
  • Strong knowledge of Latin American employment law, especially Mexico.
  • Experience managing investigations, disciplinary actions, and employee concerns.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
  • Willing to commute to Reforma office for hybrid work.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct workplace investigations involving discrimination, harassment, hostile work environments, and other employee complaints.
  • Gather and analyze information from employees, managers, witnesses, and stakeholders to determine findings and recommend actions.
  • Advise managers on performance concerns, performance improvement plans, corrective actions, and disciplinary processes.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and leaders to recommend appropriate responses based on policy and risk.
  • Support involuntary terminations, reductions in force, and other sensitive matters, including on-site Mexico support when required.
  • Conduct exit interviews and provide guidance to leaders on ER best practices.
  • Prepare investigation reports, case summaries, and written documentation while managing multiple concurrent cases.
  • Collaborate with the global Employee Relations team to share knowledge and ensure consistency.

About the Role

The Employee Relations Partner will serve as a trusted advisor across Latin America, US&Canada, supporting managers, employees, HR Business Partners, and leaders on a broad range of employee relations matters. This role conducts workplace investigations, provides guidance on employee concerns and disciplinary matters, and helps ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies while delivering fair, consistent, and well-documented outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Advise managers on employee performance concerns, performance improvement plans, corrective actions, and disciplinary processes.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and business leaders to recommend appropriate responses based on precedent, risk assessment, and organizational policies.
  • Support involuntary terminations, reductions in force, and other sensitive employee matters, including on-site support for employment actions in Mexico when required.
  • Conduct exit interviews when requested and provide guidance to leaders on employee relations best practices.
  • Prepare investigation reports, case summaries, and written documentation while managing multiple concurrent cases.
  • Collaborate with the global Employee Relations team to share knowledge, ensure consistency, and support organizational initiatives.
Requirements
  • Experience in Employee Relations, Human Resources, Labor Relations, Workplace Investigations, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and employee relations practices in Latin America, particularly Mexico.
  • Experience managing investigations, disciplinary actions, performance management cases, and employee concerns.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced Portuguese, English and Spanish proficiency.
  • Willing to commute to our Reforma office for a hybrid work schedule.
