Job summary

USANA seeks an assistant accountant for its Philippines market to support day-to-day accounting operations, from processing payables and month-end closings to staying audit-ready and ensuring compliance with internal controls.

The role involves working with vendors and internal stakeholders, knowledge of VAT and withholding taxes, experience with Oracle, and strong Excel skills, with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree in accountancy or a related field.
• Minimum two years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Knowledge of VAT and withholding tax regulations (BIR) in the Philippines.
• Experience with computerized accounting systems; Oracle preferred.
• Proficient in MS Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to work in a team.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable transactions for vendors and employee expense reports, and generate the invoice register
• Apply payments to related invoices and generate the payment register
• Process disbursements, including electronic and check payments
• Monitor the status of vendor billings and payments, along with accounts receivable for employees and other parties
• Prepare accounts payable reconciliations, expense accruals, and expense account analyses as part of month-end closing
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies and procedures, and provide evidence of controls for internal audit
• Ensure proper and complete disbursement substantiation and accounts payable supporting documentation for external audit
