Job summary

PNI Business Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Dental Billing SME/Trainer to lead live and recorded trainings on U.S. dental billing workflows.

You will assess learner performance, provide coaching, and develop micro-learning modules, with a focus on CDT codes, denials, and payer rules. The role requires 3+ years in U.S.-based dental billing, strong communication, and experience training VAs or front desk staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of U.S.-based dental billing experience.
• Hands-on experience with U.S. dental insurance coordination and claim workflows.
• Strong knowledge of CDT codes, EOB interpretation, AR follow-up, denials and appeals.
• Experience training, onboarding, or upskilling VAs, front desk staff, or dental billing teams.
• Experience conducting training sessions, SEIs, coaching, or mock scenario walkthroughs.
• Familiarity with Dentrix/Open Dental/Eaglesoft; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver live and recorded training on U.S. dental billing workflows, including insurance verification, CDT/ICD coding, claim submission, EOB review, denials, and appeals.
• Facilitate mock billing scenarios and case studies covering payer rules, code matching, documentation, and claim submission strategies.
• Conduct Skills Evaluation Interviews (SEIs) to assess billing knowledge, accuracy, judgment, and system familiarity.
• Provide one-on-one coaching, recovery training, and structured feedback based on learner performance.
• Help develop and improve micro-learning modules covering payer updates, claim denials, secondary insurance, CDT coding issues, and common billing errors.
• Recommend training and content improvements based on learner performance, industry trends, and clinic requirements.
• Provide guidance on CDT codes, billing sequences, payer protocols, documentation, and patient-facing billing communication.
• Identify recurring knowledge gaps and coordinate training improvements with the SME Lead.
• Track learner progress using Salesforce, TalentLMS, and dental billing-specific checklists.
• Reinforce HIPAA compliance and U.S. dental billing documentation standards.
