About the role
Kon-Tiki Hospitality Corp. is seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our culinary team in San Narciso, Zambales. This is a full-time position where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to the overall success of our hospitality operations. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the hospitality and tourism industry.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes, plating standards and presentation requirements
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to all food safety and health regulations
- Receive and store food supplies appropriately, checking quality and quantity upon delivery
- Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely meal preparation
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure all dishes meet quality standards
- Respond to special dietary requirements and requests from guests with professionalism and creativity
- Maintain and care for kitchen equipment and tools, reporting any maintenance issues promptly
- Follow portion control guidelines to manage food costs whilst maintaining quality
- Assist in menu planning and contribute suggestions for seasonal dishes and improvements
What we're looking for
- Proven experience working as a Cook in a hospitality or restaurant environment
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices and relevant health and safety regulations
- Strong culinary skills with proficiency in various cooking techniques and methods
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff
- Physical stamina to work long hours, including standing for extended periods in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications (preferred)
- Experience with diverse cuisines or specialised cooking methods (advantageous)
