Executive search firm Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is partnering with an organisation in the Industrial sector to hire a Compensation and Benefits Manager. This opportunity is based in Quezon City and offers the chance to lead payroll, compensation, benefits, compliance, and rewards programmes within a growing environmental services business.
Position Overview
Lead the end-to-end management of payroll operations, compensation structures, employee benefits, and statutory compliance.
Drive standardisation, market competitiveness, and continuous improvement of remuneration and benefits programmes across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains payroll information by ensuring accurate input of employee pay data in reports and in the system.
- Updates payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job titles, and department/company transfers.
- Prepares for and processes the bank files for salary credit.
- Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages.
- Ensures accuracy and timeliness of submission of reportorial requirements such as but not limited to SSS, HDMF, PhilHealth and the BIR.
- Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies.
- Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
- Keeps abreast and up to date on payroll/pay and benefit-impacting government regulations.
- Ensures effective implementation of both government and company benefits administration.
- Designs and implements remuneration and rewards programmes.
- Maintains and standardise employee benefits and compensation programmes together with the HR Business Partners.
- Initiates and drives the standardisation of pay and benefits, and continuously stays up to date on the current trends in the market.
- Establishes salary scales and pay grades across the group of companies and continuously benchmarks to identify market competitiveness and pay position strategy.
- Plan, negotiate, and assess budget of HMO contracts and other insurance benefits.
- Ensures legal and sound practices in all Pay and Benefit policies and programmes.
- Implements Occupational Health and Wellness Programmes as well as ensure compliance to regulations with regards to health and safety.
- Participates in new projects implementations and functionality uptake; seeing projects through the full lifecycle and perform functions related to requirements gathering, configuration, testing, UAT and post-production support.
- Adheres to established budgetary guideline.
- Ensures that all government obligations are adhered.
Key Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in compensation and benefits management, payroll administration, and statutory compliance.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll operations and employee benefits programmes.
- Experience in compensation benchmarking, salary structure development, and rewards programme implementation.
- Experience working with multiple business units or group companies is advantageous.
Technical / Functional Expertise
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing and payroll systems.
- In-depth understanding of Philippine statutory requirements including SSS, HDMF, PhilHealth, and BIR compliance.
- Experience in compensation planning, salary grading, remuneration strategy, and market benchmarking.
- Knowledge of benefits administration, HMO management, insurance programmes, and benefits budgeting.
- Familiarity with HR systems implementation, requirements gathering, configuration, testing, UAT, and post-production support.
- Strong reporting and payroll reconciliation capabilities.
- Knowledge of occupational health, wellness, and health and safety compliance requirements.
